To celebrate his 90th birthday, a look at the most important works of architect Norman Foster

Norman Foster is considered one of the most productive and outstanding architects of his generation, having participated in the design of hundreds of projects in collaboration with leading engineers and international companies. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Academy in 1983, then became a Royal Academician in 1991, and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of architecture in 1995.

حصل على درجة البكالوريوس مع مرتبة الشرف في عام 1990، مما رفع رتبته إلى “السير”، كما نال وسام الاستحقاق الشرفي في 1997، وتُوّج بلقب “البارون” في إنجلترا. في عام 2017، حصل على “حربة مدينة لندن”.

نال فوستر العديد من الجوائز المعمارية البارزة، من بينها “جائزة البريتزكر” للهندسة المعمارية في 2009، التي تُعتبر بمثابة جائزة نوبل في مجال العلوم الإنسانية. كما حصل على جائزة ستيرلينغ عن تصميم مبنى بلومبيرج في لندن عام 2018، وجائزة “ليني. إف. بيدل” تقديرًا لإنجازاته الحياتية، بالإضافة إلى جائزة الآغاخان للهندسة المعمارية ودكتوراه فخرية من جامعة دندي للهندسة المعمارية وغيرها من الجوائز.
